Celebration of Hope marks 115 years of protecting children and strengthening families in the Northern Region

After decades of holding an “Annual Meeting” to highlight agency accomplishments and recognize One Hope United’s partners, the Northern Region Board of Directors decided to take the yearly event to the next level and created the “Celebration of Hope.” No longer was this just a meeting, but rather a celebration of agency accomplishments over the past year and over the past 115 years that the Northern Region has served children and families.

The event took place at The Mid-America Club, an elegant space located in the Aon Building overlooking Grant Park in downtown Chicago. The committee for the event was composed of board members, a board committee member and staff. The guest list was friends of board and staff. And, 160 attended the event. The ticket price was set at $115 to commemorate the 115 year anniversary of One Hope United – Northern Region and the event raised more than $42,000.

Agency partners were recognized at the event for Outstanding Service to Children, presented to Yolanda Nutall, and Community Partner, presented to the City of Aurora and the Community Foundation of Fox River Valley. Three additional awards will be announced in the Stories of Hope Newsroom this month for the Volunteer of the Year Award, Visionary Award and Faithful Friend Award.

A special thank you for all the Board and staff support as well as to Toni Smith, Chair, and Jonni Finch, Co-Chair, for all their hard work in planning this wonderful event.
