Elgin Child & Family Resource Center

ELGIN CHILD & FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER

“The center does a great job with the children. My child has been here less than one year and I am amazed at the amount of things he has learned. Thank you for your work!!” – Parent

The Elgin Child & Family Resource Center has been serving the community since 1927. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Elgin, the center fosters social and developmental growth through nurturing interactions and activities for all skill levels. Our Healthy Lifestyles curriculum emphasizes classroom discussions about healthy eating, cooking projects that introduce nutritious snacks, activities that encourage movement and environmental awareness through gardening and recycling. Elgin Child & Family Resource Center supports family involvement in the center with parent meetings, conferences and parent-child events.

The site has an open-door policy, which welcomes families to visit and interact with their child throughout the day. The center’s Preschool for All program is a collaboration with school district U-46. Our staff works with other professionals to help secure extra support IFSPs (Individual Family Service Plan) and IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) for children needing a specialized program to help ensure school success.

We accept child care subsidies!
Through the CCAP program, we work with families to provide premier child care services at a reduced rate depending on income and additional criteria. For additional information visit our page on the Child Care Assistance Program. To find out if your family meets the criteria for a child care subsidy, contact our center director.
