Elgin Child & Family Resource Center
Growing with the Community Since 1927
The Elgin Child & Family Resource Center has been serving the community for almost 100 years. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Elgin, the center fosters social and developmental growth through nurturing interactions and activities for all skill levels.
Healthy Lifestyles
Our Healthy Lifestyles curriculum emphasizes classroom discussions about healthy eating, nutritious cooking, activities that encourage movement, and environmental awareness through gardening and recycling. Elgin Child & Family Resource Center supports family involvement in the center with parent meetings, conferences, and parent-child events.
Parent & Family Engagement
The site has an open-door policy, which welcomes families to visit and interact with their child throughout the day. The center’s Preschool for All program is a collaboration with school district U-46. Our staff work with other professionals to ensure extra support IFSPs (Individual Family Service Plan) and IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) for children needing a specialized program to help ensure school success.
