One Hope United Northern Region is proud to recognize the contributions of First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest by awarding the organization with the agency’s 2011 Faithful Friend Award.

First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest is a dedicated supporter of child abuse prevention programs at One Hope United, especially The Parent Group. Founded in 1859, the church has reflected the goals of its founders to live together as a community dedicated to a Christian life and to betterment on earth through education and benevolences. From the earliest moments, “systematic contributions” were encouraged with particular Sundays designated for major benevolences. The list of benevolences increased over time with a goal of 30% of the total budget going to mission.

The Faithful Friend Award is given each year to a church or religious institution that has supported One Hope United in our mission of protecting children and strengthening families. This award was presented to Reverend Corey Nelson on January 29, 2011 by Marilee LaMattina, Development Associate for One Hope United Northern Region.
