Lake County Ambassador Board Established To Raise Awareness For Child Abuse Prevention
Lake Villa, Ill. (March 25, 2015) – For more than 100 years One Hope United, a Chicago non-profit that protects children and strengthens families, has excelled because of the support of its volunteers. Today, OHU honors a group of active volunteers, from the last decade, by naming them to OHU’s Lake County Ambassador Board.
The group will focus on raising awareness for at-risk children and families in Lake County. Together, these seven individuals have more than 65 years of experience helping support OHU. The following individuals are named to OHU’s Lake County Ambassador Board:
- Donna Bergl, Abigail’s Avenue
- Jeanne Hansen
- Robin Korom, Consumers Credit Union
- Linda Mehnert, Mary Kay Cosmetics
- Chris Schnitzer, KapStone Paper & Packaging
- Paula Toby-Duck, Consumers Credit Union
One Hope United board member Howard Schnitzer will serve as Governance Board Liaison for the group.
For 120 years, OHU has provided foster care, adoption, residential care, family support, youth services, counseling and early childhood centers. Over the years, OHU has gone through a few name changes but its mission has not. Protecting children and strengthening families continues to be its sole goal to ensure every child has a safe home. OHU provides a diverse array of prevention, intervention and community-based support programs to vulnerable, high-risk populations at the local, state and national level.
