Job Summary

The Manager of Individual Giving plays a critical role in increasing individual donor support and managing he day-to-day operations of fund development at One Hope United. The Manager of Individual Giving is responsible for the active solicitation of annual donors of $1000+ and securing special event/gala sponsorships. The Manager of Individual Giving will also implement and evaluate a comprehensive, multi-year plan to increase leadership giving through broad-based communications via direct mail and email – in coordination with the OHU Marketing and Communications team. Also, working closely with other members of the fund development team, help execute strong donor engagement, cultivation and stewardship programs and initiatives.

Job Duties

Solicitations Program Management (50%)

  • In close partnership with OHU marketing and communications, manage, produce, coordinate, and implement marketing appeals for direct mail, email, and other digital campaigns
  • In close partnership with marketing and communications, implement effective electronic solicitation strategies to supplement direct mail efforts and increase participation and per-donor revenue
  • Manage database and oversee gift administration with development coordinator
  • Oversee and work with Finance Department to ensure smooth and accurate gift processes and communication with team
  • Implement, test, and evaluate new strategies to increase donor retention, upgrades, and acquisition, and develop key performance indicators to ensure all goals are reached

Cultivation and Stewardship (50%)

  • Collaborate with other members of the fund development team to build cultivation and stewardship opportunities for prospective and current donors
  • Help to develop cases for support, giving menus, and major gift proposals
  • Set, manage, and meet aggressive targets for annual gifts including acquisition, annual gift upgrades, and develop an effective pipeline to the major and planned gifts program
  • Track and document cultivation and stewardship activities in the Salesforce database and other donor tracking tools
  • Conduct initial research of new prospective donors to assess giving capacity, affinity, and connections to the organization, and identify at least fifty new high-capacity donors annually

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience

  • Five (5) years of recent fundraising experience, preferably in a social service setting and with a focus on individual donors required
  • Experience in non-profit organizations required
  • Extensive donor database experience required; knowledge of Salesforce preferred

Other     

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance

Required Skills    

  • Strong writing skills, proficiency in social media management, ability to speak and present publicly especially to media outlets, and comfort with representing One Hope United, its programs, and strategic vision
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and knowledge of search functions for donor research purposes
  • Ability to execute annual giving campaigns, special events, and direct and personal solicitation
  • Excellent communication skills, including written communications, with the ability to connect to a variety of audiences
  • Superior interpersonal skills, engaging professionally with volunteers, colleagues, and donors
  • Available to work weeknights and weekends
  • Respect for confidentiality of donor information and a strong sense for donor ethics
  • Strong work ethic, professional manner, and appearance in representing One Hope United
  • Outstanding project management skills with careful attention to detail and can manage multiple projects simultaneously
