O’Hare Child Development Center

O’Hare Child Development Center

“The staff really makes the center. The director does a great job of hiring friendly and caring teachers, and the long-term staff make me feel so good about the care the children receive. They are all awesome.” – Parent

O’Hare Child Development Center is nestled in a secure park-like setting with many opportunities to engage with nature. Through observation and assessment, we plan experiences and activities based on the interests and emerging skills of the individual child. Our curriculum is designed to promote developmental growth and cultivate artistic expression.

Our center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and follows a Healthy Lifestyles curriculum. The program incorporates indoor and outdoor activities including yoga, hip hop and music activities, and several other diversions. Discussions on selecting healthy food choices and maintaining sound nutritional habits are reoccurring topics. Instructors also educate children and families on proper dental hygiene care, while hearing and vision screenings are also offered.

To ensure the O’Hare Child Development Center continues to strive and prosper, parent involvement is vital and highly encouraged. The center’s parent advisory board helps raise funds for the center, enrichment activities and experiences that all of the children can join, as well as the teacher appreciation events. Here at OHU, we are proud that our parent’s strong commitment to the O’Hare Child Development Center ripples through the community and results in many referrals.

Community Partners
We are located on the border of Park Ridge and Des Plaines, allowing our center to collaborate with the Park Ridge and Des Plaines Chambers of Commerce and public libraries. Our center’s partnerships with government agencies allow us to form a community that gives us national exposure through the GSA and FAA websites and their internal employee portals.

What The Parents Are Saying

“One Hope United’s O’Hare Child Development Center has had such a positive impact on my son. He enjoys coming each day and has learned so much. He has some speech delays and his teachers have been proactive in working alongside his speech therapist. They also have been patient with him in the process.”

“I think that it is important every once in a while to let you know how much we appreciate the service that your facility provides. We continue to be impressed daily by how caring the staff is and how helpful everyone has been in helping us raise our kids. I think that it is rare to find a daycare facility where the teachers care so much about the kids. I have not had any complaints over the last couple of years. You have put together a phenomenal staff of people that really seem to enjoy their jobs. Their jobs seem so difficult and I am always amazed at how well they seem to handle the situations that they are confronted with on a daily basis. I have such a respect for all of the teachers that we have had the pleasure to get to know and that have helped to take care of [our children]. I feel that this is very rare and just want all of you to know that we recognize this and are very grateful and fortunate to have found One Hope United. The teachers in the infant room were great with [our son] and that made us feel so much better when enrolling [our other son] here. He already seems to be taken with the teachers in Infant 1. Every time that [our older son] goes to a new room, it is difficult to imagine him being as attached to his new teachers as he was to his previous teachers, but it always seems to happen. Thank you for all that you guys do there. I am quite sure that the other parents feel the same that we do.”

“The staff really makes the center. The director does a great job of hiring friendly and caring teachers, and the long-term staff make me feel so good about the care the children receive. They are all awesome.”

“Everyone at the center has been great! All the teachers really care about our son and he loves going to the center every day, which makes our lives so much easier.”

Meet Our Director

O’Hare Child Development Center Director
Director, Stephanie Carnduff
Hi! My name is Stephanie Carnduff, I have had an active role in the lives of children by being a part of the Early Childhood field for over 10 years. Beginning as a teacher and continuing to learn and experience different roles within the field I joined One Hope United in April 2011 and came on board to the O’Hare team in November 2015 and am so excited to be here! My passion for the families, children and staff I work with everyday keep me very hands-on and connected in the classroom and with families. I truly enjoy being there for each child and encourage them as they grow, develop and discover the world around them. The O’Hare team is complete with a dedicated team of teachers that make our center an amazing place for children and families.
