Robin Korom – 2011 Volunteer of the Year Award

One Hope United Northern Region is very proud to honor Robin Korom as the Volunteer of the Year for 2011.

Born and raised in Antioch, Illinois, Robin is married to Louis Korom and they have three children.  They spend their family time between homes in Spring Grove, Illinois and the Northwoods of Wisconsin—but remain solid Bear fans!

Professionally, Robin has served the business community in Lake County for more than 25 years as a commercial lender and is currently Vice President of Commercial Lending at Consumers Credit Union in Gurnee. This work has allowed her to assist entrepreneurs realize their dreams of small business ownership.

In between many hobbies and work and families, Robin has contributed tremendously to the mission of One Hope United throughout the last four years.  She currently serves as the Blue Ribbon Committee chair and has taken on the goal to raise $200,000 for OHU programs in 2012.  She brings her strong business sense, her organization, and her creativity to this committee as well as many other activities year round such as the Back to School Drive, Holiday Giving, the annual golf outing, and cooking for Thanksgiving for the CARE residents.

“By the grace of God I have had many blessings in my life, a loving family, a warm, safe home to grow up in, the ability to get a good education and many positive role models to guide and support me in all that I do. Getting involved with One Hope United has given me the opportunity to give something back to those who have not been as fortunate as I am.”

Her dream to help transfer blessings benefits the children and families of OHU. Thank you Robin!
