Parents, children, friends, and neighbors are invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony to name a learning space for Toni Sandor Smith, a member of One Hope United’s board of directors for nearly 20 years. An Edgewater resident and frequent visitor to the Edgewater Early Learning Center, Toni has become a favorite storybook reader of our students. Please join us for a special afternoon honoring Smith’s contributions to the center, the board, and the Edgewater community. Learn more.

After the dedication, please join us for refreshments and a special musical performance by educator and award-winning saxophonist Michael Salter!

Chicago native Michael Salter is an award-winning and Grammy-nominated saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and educator. Salter is a member of Orbert Davis’s Chicago Jazz Philharmonic. A passionate and dedicated educator, Salter is also a Chicago Jazz Philharmonic Teaching Artist, which allows musicians from the ensemble to work directly with youth in Chicago Public Schools.
