Wilmette Child Development Center
WILMETTE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
NEW LOCATION COMING SOON!
On Monday, June 4, this center will relocate to 3201 Old Glenview Road. The new location will be known as Sprouted Child Care & Early Education, by One Hope United. The center has been redesigned from the ground up with little learners in mind, and its modern, nature-themed décor and unique design elements make every day a discovery waiting to happen! Each classroom has both adult- and child-sized doorways, as well as individual bathrooms and sinks. Our gym will provide indoor space for large-motor activities, while our new playground will provide outdoor space to jump and play! Stay tuned for more updates as they become available!
The Wilmette Child Development Center holds deep roots in the Wilmette community, where it has been a source of excellence in care and education for the area’s young children for 29 years.
The center, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), is proud to be a trusted place for care within the community and the recipient of many parent referrals, including from those who are educators themselves and have a unique perspective on our educational philosophy and goals.
Our experienced staff will customize each child’s curriculum based on their individual strength, temperament, observations and formal assessments. This customized curriculum is designed to foster each child’s developmental growth and encourage creative expression.
Wilmette Child Development Center offers a Healthy Lifestyles curriculum, which includes incorporating daily movement — indoors and out — learning how to make healthy food choices and maintaining healthy habits such as visiting a dentist, brushing your teeth and screening hearing and vision. The center also hosts classes in yoga, drama to encourage physical fitness, creative expression and relaxation. For our annual Health and Fitness Day event, we partner with many local businesses and sponsor a family walk and on-site fitness activities.
Parent & Family Engagement
Our families view our center as a community that offers opportunities for involvement in the daily routines as well as special events. Parents are welcomed visitors to the program and often stop by to share their talents and family culture.
Wilmette Child Development Center is woven into the community through our partnerships with many local businesses such as Avoca School District, Wilmette Theater, the Glenview Park District and the Wilmette Public Library. We are members of the Alliance for Early Childhood as well as the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce.
What The Parents Are Saying
“It is obvious that my children have received a great foundation, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. I know a great deal of this is due to the work of the staff and director’s leadership.”
“We are very pleased with the program and teachers. Our daughter loves to go to school. Compared to the program our older daughter attended, OHU has been so wonderful. We recommend this program to anyone we know.”
“The teachers have made such an impact on our son. Their warmth and enthusiasm shines through. He loves to come home and talk about the artists and authors they’ve been discussing. The drama and yoga programs are great also.”
“Our daughter is happy and seems to be really thriving in many ways. We attribute much of that to her experiences at OHU.”
