May is Foster Care Awareness Month

May is Foster Care Awareness Month. At One Hope United, we work to support youth in the foster care system and their families every day. By bringing awareness to the system and the children inside of it, we create an environment of trust, belonging, and acceptance within our communities.

We’d also like to acknowledge the parents, guardians, foster parents, staff, legislators, and other community members who support children and help them find their forever homes.

Left Quote

As a foster parent, you end up discovering a lot about yourself. We want everyone to do it, but it’s not for everyone, and that’s okay. I’m happy to do this and happy to give back in any way that I can. I’m proud of what I do.

Alysha, Foster Parent with One Hope United

Right Quote

The goal of foster care is stability, support, and strengthening opportunites for youth to reunify with their families or successfully age out of the system. There are currently over 391,000 children in the foster care system in United States and everyone can make a difference.
