Planned Giving

A planned gift is a meaningful way to support One Hope United, either now or in the future, as part of your overall financial or estate planning. Whether made during your lifetime or through your will, a planned gift helps secure long-term stability for our mission—ensuring that children and families thrive for generations to come.

Why do people make planned gifts?

Planned gifts go far beyond traditional donations—they are thoughtfully designed to create lasting change, aligning with long-term goals that profoundly shape the futures of the children, youth, and families we serve.

Join the Scofield Gibbs Society—a Legacy of Compassion

Become part of One Hope United’s legacy giving society, the Scofield Gibbs Society (SGS), and help ensure your generosity has a lasting impact. As a member, you’ll be connected to our dedicated team who will work with you to honor your intentions and steward your gift with care.

One Hope United traces its roots to two profound acts of compassion more than a century ago. In 1895, Rev. Ezra Scofield and his wife opened a small shelter in Downers Grove, Illinois, after finding five homeless children on their street. Just a few years later in central Illinois, Alice Gibbs dedicated her life and resources to caring for children in need. Their efforts laid the foundation for the OHU we know today—supporting thousands of children and families across Illinois and Florida.

The SGS honors these selfless beginnings. By including One Hope United in your will, trust, or estate plans, you’ll create a legacy gift that will support our mission for generations to come—empowering every child and family to reach their fullest potential.

What Our Donors Say

“There are so many overwhelming problems in the world. We take solace in knowing that by donating to One Hope United, we're impacting one child and family at a time, right here in our own community,"

“Legacy and impact. In addition to taking care of our own family and loved ones, a Planned Gift allows us to leave a legacy for needs in the future. A Planned Gift also allows the agency to plan for the future which increases the impact of the donation for the children and families One Hope United serves.”

Joyce Heneberry
– Scoffield Gibbs Society Member & Donor Relations Officer
"I decided to make a planned gift to One Hope United because our family is committed to helping make sure every child gets the chance to live a good life, surrounded by those who care for them. One Hope United is an amazing organization, dedicated to helping kids and their families thrive!”
