Parents as Teachers
One Hope United’s Parents As Teachers (PAT) program provides parent education and support to parents with children aged 0-3 residing in North Chicago. We help parents understand child development and connect them to the resources they need to make the best choices for their family.
Services
We Offer
Parent educators will connect with families via home, video, or phone visits. Each session is personalized, and parents will receive well-researched information on topics such as:
- How to sooth a crying baby
- Child development
- Medical and dental health
- Age-appropriate discipline
- Setting and accomplishing goals
- Family planning
- Parent-child and family relationships
- School readiness
- Community resources
Who is Eligible?
- A parent with a child between the age of 0-3
- Must reside in Lake County, IL
*We serve the communities of North Chicago.
